Industrial IoT, Data Analytics, and Multimedia

The machine in the field stays where it is. Data from the sensor and the device is taken onto the corporate network and read on the operations screen.

Definition

Industrial IoT is a device in a plant or in the field giving data to the organisation. The machine is not removed, and the mechanical arrangement is not changed. A sensor reads a measure such as temperature, a meter, or a running state. That data passes the network and security layers and becomes visible in software.

Live monitoring is reading the field’s state at that moment on a screen. In data analysis, artificial intelligence helps read the record that has been gathered. The decision rests on the measured data. IPTV is broadcast inside the organisation. A video wall is that picture standing side by side on a large screen. A kiosk is a transaction screen in a lobby or in the field. Exiplus designs the connection, installs it, and operates it.

Scope

  • Field device and sensor connection
  • Live monitoring
  • Data analysis assisted by artificial intelligence
  • IPTV, video wall, and kiosk

Capability

  • Operational data gathered in one place
  • A live view of status
  • Analysis for decision support
  • Operation of IPTV, the video wall, and the kiosk

Industrial IoT

We connect machine data to the corporate infrastructure

The machine and the mechanical arrangement stay in place. We bring field data into the network, security, server, and software layers, and we operate the link so it can be observed.

  1. 01

    Adaptation

We design the link for the machine, the protocol it uses, and the IT arrangement already in place. The line staying in operation is a condition of that fit.

  2. 02

    Installation

We bring sensors and field devices into the network and software layers. We hand them over after the end-to-end test is complete.

  3. 03

    Operation

Monitoring and support continue after go-live. The data is read on the operations screen, and response to a drift stays inside the same arrangement.

  • Machine data

We make field data collectable and usable for assessment. The decision rests on measured data.

  • Network and security

We bring the link into the organisation’s network and security policy. The field does not remain an unsupervised island.

  • Live view

We watch production and field state from the operations screen.

  • Data analysis

We use artificial intelligence to help read the collected data. The result stays inside the current workflow.

Technology layer

The standard comes first.

Infrastructure and security are not tied to one manufacturer. The design follows common corporate standards. The manufacturer is chosen for the organisation’s scope.

Competence is defined in the areas below. The manufacturer is chosen from the solution partners, according to the organisation’s scope.

  • Network

LAN, routing, SD-WAN, and redundant WAN access.

  • Cybersecurity

Firewall, NAC, endpoint security, and central log management.

  • Data center

Virtualisation, workload consolidation, and cloud services.

  • Physical infrastructure

Fibre and copper structured cabling, CCTV, and access control.

  • Software

Process automation and system integration, built for the organisation.
