Data Center and Cloud Technologies
Servers and storage are where the organisation’s work runs. They are built to the need. A system may sit on the site, in the cloud, or in an Exiplus facility.

Definition
The data center is where the servers and the data sit. Virtualisation gathers many jobs onto a shared layer instead of a separate physical machine for each one. That is workload consolidation: scattered servers run in one arrangement.
Colocation is the hosting of the organisation’s systems in an Exiplus facility. IaaS is infrastructure, PaaS is the platform the work runs on, and SaaS is ready software, each taken as a service. A system in the cloud and a system on site belong to the same operation. The scope is chosen to the need. Exiplus designs the facility and the cloud, installs them, and operates them.
Workloads gather on the virtualisation layer. Cloud and colocation belong to the same operation.
Scope
- Servers and storage
- Virtualisation
- Data center design and colocation
- IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
Capability
- Growth to capacity
- The facility designed to the need
- Workload consolidation
- Cloud and on-site systems operated together
Server rental
Ready capacity sits in the chosen location
A rented server is ready capacity in place of the organisation’s own machine. The workload may sit in Turkey, in Europe, or in the global cloud. Exiplus selects the location, installs it, and operates it.
Which server for which job
The form follows how the work runs.
01
Web
A virtual server or the cloud. When visitors are in Turkey, the location is chosen on the Istanbul side.
02
Email
Capacity that stays on. When records should remain in the country, a location in Turkey is used.
03
Enterprise software
When the resource is known at the start, a physical server or a dedicated virtual server. When the number of users will grow, the cloud.
04
Database
Disk and memory decide. The country where the backup copy sits decides the location.
Locations
The same four measures apply in each group: latency, the country where the data sits, capacity, and connectivity.
Turkey
Radore, Equinix Istanbul, Turkcell, Türk Telekom
Proximity to the user is high. Data can remain in Turkey. Linking to local lines is straightforward.
Europe
Hetzner (Germany, Finland), OVHcloud, Equinix Frankfurt and Amsterdam
Physical and virtual capacity is broad. Latency to Turkey stays at an acceptable level.
Global cloud
AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
These are cloud regions. Capacity grows with the need. The work can spread across more than one region.
The names are examples of locations in frequent use. The choice is made per project.
Technology layer
The standard comes first.
Infrastructure and security are not tied to one manufacturer. The design follows common corporate standards. The manufacturer is chosen for the organisation’s scope.
Competence is defined in the areas below. The manufacturer is chosen from the solution partners, according to the organisation’s scope.
Network
LAN, routing, SD-WAN, and redundant WAN access.
Cybersecurity
Firewall, NAC, endpoint security, and central log management.
Data center
Virtualisation, workload consolidation, and cloud services.
Physical infrastructure
Fibre and copper structured cabling, CCTV, and access control.
Software
Process automation and system integration, built for the organisation.
